Anne Appler is the Valuation Manager for Venture First. Anne has experience providing valuation and business advisory services to early stage, entrepreneurial technology companies with complex capital structures typically resulting from venture capital investments. Her business valuation expertise includes valuation of common stock, preferred stock, restricted stock, derivatives, equity appreciation rights, and other types of equity-based compensation for tax and financial reporting purposes. She has also worked closely with clients and attorneys conducting fair market valuations for gift and estate planning purposes.
Prior to joining Venture First, Anne was the Valuations Director for a boutique financial advisory and business valuations firm in New York. She also consulted as an analyst for a business valuations firm in Washington DC. Anne began her career evaluating investment opportunities for a private equity investment fund comprised of angel investors and advising the fund’s portfolio companies.
Anne earned an MBA in Finance from George Mason University and a BS from James Madison University. She is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, and she currently serves as Vice Chair of the Thomas Jefferson Partnership Fund, a non-profit, 501(c) (3) charitable organization that supports the unique learning opportunities, specialized curriculum, and innovative research experiences available for TJ students.
