Featured in Forbes’ Built to Sell and a member of the high-impact global Endeavor Entrepreneur network, Steve Huey has been building, scaling, selling, and investing in start-ups for two decades. With the foundational experience as a member of the four-person CMGI M&A team crisscrossing the country doing $4B worth of transactions during the .com boom, Steve’s passion for fast-paced, high-growth start-ups led him to build his own companies. His specialty has been integrating new technologies into existing markets, helping firms better serve their customers and accelerate their growth. Beyond technology, Steve’s belief is that human capital is quickly becoming the only differentiator between good companies and great ones. His leadership style is to build a corporate culture that embraces the entrepreneurial spirit by aligning both personal and professional goals.
Awarded 2018 Kentucky Mentor of the Year and one of Louisville’s most admired CEO’s, Steve currently serves as Board Chairman for publicly-traded sales software firm Sharpspring, and boutique financial services firm Venture First. Most recently, Steve was founder and CEO of Capture Higher Ed, a predictive modeling and marketing automation software firm serving higher education. Using narrow AI and machine learning, Capture positioned itself as the most accurate enrollment and financial aid data services firm in the industry. Before founding Capture, Steve helped lead the acquisition of both The Learning House, Inc. and RentalHouses.com, and prior to that Steve held senior positions at software firms Earthlink and Alluria.
Steve continues to serve as a board member for Capture and several additional technology start-ups. In the few hours when he’s not mentoring dozens of CEO’s across the country, speaking or reading, you can probably find Steve doing CrossFit or manning his Playstation. Steve attended Miami University in Oxford, OH and received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
